QR15 type forks are a valid alternative to traditional forks with slotted drop-outs for an increased tortional rigidity which leads to a more precise and secure drive. The QR15 axle with 15mm diameter is supplied with the fork. The QR15 axles can be either of the quick release variety or screw type with allen head. FRM forks use the screw type
The X-12 type hubs are compatible with both Shimano E-Thru and Syntace X-12 type frames. The lock-nut is 142mm with a 12mm bore. The frame-wheel rigidity is much better than that created with traditional quick-release. FRM rear hubs can be modified from 10mm thru-axle quick release to a X-12 system just by changing the external axle caps.
Thru-axle type quick release (9mm front and 10mm rear) are increasingly used in MTBv29er because of a much higher torque on forks and frames. Used with slotted type forks and frames, with a reduction in flexibility of around 20-25%
All FRM rims feature an assymetric profile. This assymetry means that the difference in spoke tension between the right and the left sides is reduced by 20/30%. The FRM wheels, with less that 10% difference in spoke tension are more stable and less prone to damage caused by a broken spoke
" Big Pawls" freewheels turn on two bearings, one of which has a double row of ball bearings. The engagement is created with the use of four steel pawls each one activated by it’s own spring. The toothed ring onto which the pawls are activated is machined from titanium or steel depending on the hub model
