Light-weight racing parts since 1990

This symbol indicates all the FRM products where some part of the component is made in Titanium: hardware, quick release axles, freewheel toothed rings etc. The titanium used is always grade 9 with 6AL-4V code

  • STANDARDISED FRAME AND FORK DIMENSION

    Head-Tube Bore-Top

Head-Tube Bore-Bottom Stem Clamp Diameter Crown-Race Seat Diameter
    44,00-43,95mm 44,00-43,95mm 28,6-28,45mm 39,79-39,85mm

  • Code S.H.I.S (Standardised Identification System)

    • The S.H.I.S. code incorporates the four critical interface dimensions required to fit a fork to a frame, as well as explicitly noting bearing location/cup type
    • The four needed dimension are:
    1. Stem/clamp diameter of fork
    2. Crown-race seat diameter of fork
    3. Head-tube top inside diameter
    4. Head-tube bottom inside diameter

Bearing position and cup type are identified as:

    1. EC (External Cup) Bearing contained within cups that are located outside of the frame
    2. ZS (Zero Stack) bearings contained within pressed-in cups where the cups and bearings rest inside the frame
    3. IS (Integrated) Bearings that fit directly into a bonded or machined interface that is integrated into the frame
    • The S.H.I.S. code is made of four alfanumeric series separated by / and |
    • The symbol | separates the upper form the lower headset parts
    • The symbol / separates the dimensions-type of the frame from the diameter of the fork steerer tube

For example the code ZS44/28,6 | EC44/40 of this headset is separated in four parts:

    1. ZS44 identifies the upper headset as a Zero Stack (bearing inside the frame) for a 44mm frame bore
    2. 28,6 identifies the diameter of the fork tube at the stem clamp of 28,6mm that is 1 1/8"
    3. EC44 identifies the lower headset as external cup for a frame bore of 44mm
    4. 40 identifies the diameter of the fork tube at the crown of 40mm, that is 1,5"
